Members of the St. Bernard Parish Tourist Commission along with St. Bernard Parish Government Officials presented a proclamation to support National Travel & Tourism Week.

National Travel and Tourism Week (NTTW), the annual celebration of the contributions of the U.S. travel industry, will spotlight the critical role that travel will play in driving economic growth and building the path forward through the theme Future of Travel.

This year’s theme elevates how the travel industry can restore the workforce, help communities recover, foster sustainability, usher in new innovations and reconnect travelers in the U.S. and around the world. Every year the St. Bernard Parish Office of Tourism and the St. Bernard Tourist Commission, along with our tourism and community partners, join cities across the U.S. to celebrate National Travel & Tourism Week.

The purpose of National Travel and Tourism Week is to create a greater appreciation to honor those who dedicate their lives to the tourism industry, and to promote the importance of travel and tourism’s impact on our local economy.

When people make the choice to travel to St. Bernard Parish, it makes an enormous impact on the residents who live and work here. In 2020, St. Bernard Parish Tourism generated $2.15 million dollars in local taxes to St. Bernard Parish.

Travel is a force that can drive St. Bernard Parish’s economy. For information on upcoming events, please visit www.visitstbernard.com.
