SBPP softball issue – Lady Owls Unbeaten in District Play

The 2021 Chalmette High softball team is unbeaten in District 8-5A through five games. Chalmette defeated Riverdale 14-1 and Bonnabel 17-1. East Jefferson and John Ehret are the two remaining district games for the Lady Owls.

Chalmette was leading Riverdale 3-1 after three innings. In the fourth inning, the Lady Owls scored 11 runs to hold on to the 14-1 win. The leadoff hitter reached base in all four plate appearances with three runs scored. Third baseman Mo’ney Littles had two hits while driving in three runs. First baseman Breone Major had two hits with two runs scored. Mia McNab also had a hit with two runs scored and two runs batted in. Trinity Fortuna had two hits with two runs scored. Courtney Chaplain picked up the win on the mound for Chalmette. Chaplain only allowed one hit to go along with four strikeouts.

Chalmette also overwhelmed the Bonnabel Bruins 17-1 in another district game. Rikki Adams was again perfect at the plate with three runs and four runs batted in. Breone Major had two runs scored with two runs batted in. Mo’ney Littles also had a triple with two runs scored. Courtney Chaplain pitched another good game earning the victory on the mound. Chaplain only allowed one hit with five strikeouts against Bonnabel.
