The Chalmette High baseball team won five games in a row. Four of the games were in District 8-5A competition. The Owls also won their first four district games over East Jefferson 10-4, West Jefferson 11-0, John Ehret 13-1 and Bonnabel 16-2. Chalmette defeated Pope John Paul II 4-1 in a non-district game.
Chalmette easily defeated the Bonnabel Bruins 16-2. Senior Tyler Carreras picked up the win on the mound after a dominant pitching performance. Carreras only allowed one earned run with nine strikeouts.
In the Bonnabel win, four Owls had two hits to lead their offense. Brenden Zahn had a home run and double with two runs batted in and two runs scored. Trent Gonzales also had two hits with two runs scored and two runs batted in. Dylan Bryan had two hits while scoring three runs with a run batted in. Gary Vinet also scored three runs on two hits with two runs batted in.
Brendan Zahn was a key in the Owls win over John Ehret 13-1. Zahn only allowed two hits with 10 strikeouts. Zahn was also perfect at the plate with three hits. Trevor Truitt had a triple with a run scored and two runs batted in. Trent Gonzales had two hits while driving in three runs. Bryce Babin had a hit with two runs scored and two runs batted in.
