St. Bernard Parish Public School District is one of the few districts in the state to offer a universal, tuition-free four-year-old preschool program. This program is for all children residing in St. Bernard Parish who will be four years of age by Sept. 30, 2021. Preschool classes are located at all seven St. Bernard Parish public elementary schools. The classes follow the Louisiana Birth to Five Early Learning and Development Standards (ELDS) and are taught by certified teachers who are assisted by trained paraprofessionals.
