The St. Bernard Parish Library’s Oceans of Possibilities Summer Readers recently celebrated the end of a successful six-week event with two prize drawings.
Nearly 140 readers completed their activity sheets in time to be entered into either the Grand Finale Prize Drawing for Pre-Readers through 5th graders or the Tween/Teen Prize drawing for 6th through 12th Graders.
The grand prize at both drawing were certificates for brand new bicycles thanks to the Read to Ride program sponsored by the local Kiwanis Club of St. Bernard-Arabi. A total of five lucky readers were chosen as winners.
The Kiwanis of St. Bernard-Arabi is a service organization that has been a long-standing sponsor of the library’s annual summer reading program. For nearly 20 years they have donated bicycles to library kids who participate in the library’s activities. Their efforts to promote literacy in schools and libraries is noteworthy and the St. Bernard Parish Library is both proud and grateful to have its continued support.
