As a part of Kiwanis Literacy and Academics Program, the Kiwanis Club of St. Bernard has a fund set aside to assist the low-income children who may not be able to afford to purchase reading books. The Kiwanis Club donates $150 to the area elementary schools to assist low-income children who often cannot afford to purchase books at Elementary Schools. On March 21, checks were delivered to Chalmette Elementary, Meraux Elementary, Lacoste Elementary & Gauthier Elementary schools.
