Florida Ave. Bridge to Close Friday, March 26 to Repair Guardrail

The Port of New Orleans is planning to close the eastbound lane of the Florida Avenue Bridge on Friday, March 26 (9 a.m. – Noon) to repair a damaged section of guardrail.

The Friends of the Animal Shelter — St. Bernard will be hosting a “rabies drive” on May 8 in Violet, La. The drive will run from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m., 5455 E. Judge Perez Dr., Violet, La. 70092, 504-278-1534.
Rabies Vaccine is $15, Microchips are $15. Dogs must be on a leash. Cats must be in a carrier.

Angelicare Therapeutic Group Home held its grand opening ribbon cutting ceremony last month at 3408 Angelique Dr in Violet, La.
On hand for the ribbon cutting was the owner, Dionna Richardson and State Rep Ray Garofalo.
Angelicare provides services to individuals living in the St. Bernard, Orleans and Jefferson Parishes.
The care and services include, but are not limited to: Behavioral health services,
medication management, assistance with independent living skills, recreational services, rehabilitative services, and transportation services.

Valero Meraux Refinery and St. Bernard Parish are joining together in partnership with NOLA Tree Project to Plant The event will take place at Sidney D. Torres Memorial Park on Sat. March 27 from 9 a.m. until noon. The St. Bernard residents are encouraged to stop by and receive one free tree per household from Valero Volunteers. Face masks and social distancing required.
