Councilmember Wanda Alcon Helps Distribute Necessities to St. Bernard Manor

Today, Council member Wanda Alcon of District D helped distribute ice, water and sandwiches to residents of St. Bernard Manor in Meraux.

Ms. Alcon was greeted with many thanks and appreciation for her efforts.  St. Bernard Manor has been without power since Sunday evening.

The ice, water and sandwiches were all donated by Valero Refinery, located in Meraux.

Everbridge Notification System

St. Bernard Parish uses Everbridge emergency notification system to alert residents about a variety of events, ranging from severe weather, fires, floods and other emergencies, to more routine announcements, such as road closures and water utility maintenance. Messages will be sent to residents on their preferred contact paths—cell phone, SMS, home phone, email, fax, pager and more—to ensure real-time access to potentially lifesaving information. Residents listed in the St. Bernard Parish 911 database will be automatically subscribed to alerts by phone, but Everbridge allows citizens to self-register, provide additional contact information or opt out.
