The Arlene and Joseph Meraux Charitable Foundation made a $10,000 donation to Los Isleños Heritage and Cultural Society to help subsidize maintenance and improvements to Los Isleños Museum Complex. Isleño Society vice president Lena Torres Nunez (right) received the donation from the Meraux Foundation and presented the check to Los Islenos Fiesta Committee chairperson Kathy Serpas Ziegler (left) during the July 9, 2021, seafood dinner fundraiser held in the Frank M. Fernandez Jr. Isleño Center. The society was unable to sponsor its annual festival in 2021 because of the Covid 19 Pandemic and began having monthly seafood dinners in May. Additional fundraisers will be held in August, September and October 2021.
